What happens at the first dental appointment?

What happens at your first appointment will depend on whether you are visiting us for a dental emergency or a routine check-up.

If you are experiencing a dental emergency, our priority is to relieve your pain and make you as comfortable as possible. We may then recommend a follow-up appointment to complete any necessary treatment and help prevent future dental problems.

For a routine dental appointment, we will carry out a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, supporting bone and soft tissues. We may also recommend dental X-rays, typically every two years, to help detect decay and other issues that may not be noticeable during a visual examination.
