General Dentistry

From its humble beginning back in 1922, Gawler Dental Clinic has continued to grow in both size and stature through the generations. Today’s modern dental facility boasts state-of-the-art technology along with eight dentists, three hygienists and a dedicated support team to ensure you and your family receive the best in dental care.

At Gawler Dental Clinic, we see our patients as part of our extended family, so you can be confident that we’ll treat you just as we would want our own families to be treated. We look forward to welcoming you and providing the dental care you need for many years to come.

Preventive Care

A good dental programme is built on a foundation of preventive care that includes brushing and flossing at home and visiting the dentist every six months for check-ups and cleans. Routine visits to the dentist also mean that we can detect dental issues earlier rather than later.

Identifying problems in their earliest stages usually means dental care that is less invasive—and less expensive. We will screen you for issues such as tooth decay, gum disease and oral cancer. During your preventive clean, your hygienist will remove the extra plaque that inevitably builds up on teeth even if you practise good home care.

General Dentistry

Although we’ll do our best to help you avoid needing treatment, sometimes dental care is essential to protect your oral health. In addition to preventive care, we offer a wide selection of general family dental services that include tooth-coloured fillings, root canal therapy and dental restorations including crowns, bridges and dentures.

Cosmetic Treatments

Maybe you enjoy good oral health, but you don’t care for the way your smile looks. With today’s cosmetic dentistry, there is no reason to go through life with a smile you don’t love. Professional teeth whitening can brighten your smile, and dental veneers can cover up flaws in your smile in just a couple of dental appointments. We can also provide full smile makeovers when more than one treatment is needed.

Our dentists would love the opportunity to talk to you about the improvements you’d like to see with your smile.

Restorative Dentistry

Are you avoiding showing your smile because of chipped, damaged or missing teeth? Whatever you might be dealing with, our dental team can provide a full range of restorative dental treatments. We offer:

  • Tooth crowns for damaged or weakened teeth
  • Dentures or dental implants for one or more missing teeth
  • Tooth-coloured fillings to restore decayed teeth
  • Root canal treatments

Emergency Dental Services

Tooth pain, knocked-out teeth and lost or broken restorations are just some of the tooth emergencies in Gawler that we can treat. We always leave some time open in our schedule to see emergency cases. The earlier in the day that you can call us, the better the chances of us getting you in for immediate relief.

We Invite You to Contact Gawler Dental Clinic

Frequently Asked Questions

The cost of your treatment will depend on what is needed and the current state of your oral health. It’s difficult to predict costs before you come in for a thorough dental examination.

Once you are here and our dentist has conducted a thorough examination, we will give you an accurate estimate of the cost of any recommended treatment. You have many different options for paying for dental care, including HICAPS and insurance; we are also a BUPA preferred provider.

We understand that fitting in dental treatment into the family budget can be difficult. This is one of the main reasons we emphasise routine visits to our Gawler, SA dental clinic. Although it might seem like a waste to come to the dentist when you are not experiencing any type of dental issue, these visits enable your dentist to treat small issues before they become bigger problems. The earlier we can provide treatment, the less invasive it usually is—and the less expensive. Routine dental visits can actually save you money in the long run.

For questions about the financial options available for needed dental treatment, we welcome your call. One of our experienced team members will be happy to help.

If it’s your first appointment at our Gawler, SA dental clinic, we will ask you to fill out our new patient forms. These can be accessed online so you can fill them out before you come in, or you may fill them out in our dental clinic. If you opt for the latter, we recommend you come in about 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

Your dentist will go over your medical history, asking about health conditions and medications. Rest assured that we will keep your health records completely private. With our electronic record-keeping system, we keep your information protected.

If you have come in for a specific dental issue, your dentist will conduct a thorough examination. We may recommend dental x-rays to detect problems that might not yet be visible. Then your dentist will go over treatment options to address your concerns.

For routine dental examinations, one of our dental hygienists will conduct a thorough dental cleaning.

Regardless of the reason for your appointment, there will be plenty of time to talk about your oral health. We can also make recommendations for improving home care.

If you have questions before coming in, we welcome your call. One of our friendly team members will be happy to provide you with the information you need.

The only way to know for sure if you have healthy teeth and gums is with a dental examination. Routine check-ups at our Gawler, SA dental clinic will reveal not only whether your gums are healthy but whether any other problems are lurking, such as tooth decay.

Patients often wonder why they should visit the dentist when their teeth seem to be just fine. After all, there are plenty of other things that seem more fun to spend money on. But if you want to save money in the long run, routine dental check-ups can do that.

When you skip dental visits, no one notices the small problems that can easily grow into big ones. A small cavity can become a tooth that develops an infection and needs a root canal. If you don’t have your teeth cleaned, the plaque that your hygienist can remove during a routine clean might worsen until you find yourself with gum disease.

Many dental issues have no signs or symptoms in their earliest stages. By the time you realise you have a problem, you might need more expensive or more invasive dental treatments. It’s best to protect your oral health with routine dental care, and it would be our pleasure to welcome you to our Gawler, SA dental clinic.
